The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) has announced that Professor Bonnie Bassler will receive the 2006 Eli Lilly and Company Research Award. The Eli Lilly Award is ASM's oldest and most prestigious prize.  This award recognizes fundamental research of unusual merit in microbiology or immunology by an individual on the threshold of his or her career.
